Michael Chopak, Age 83 of Prospect Street, Troy, PA passed away Saturday, July 18, 2015 at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre. Michael was born April 26, 1932 in Scranton son of the late John & Stella (Budjinski) Chopak, Sr. Mike was a graduate of local schools and attended two years of college. He served his country with the US Air Force from 1951 to 1955. He and the former Frances C. Chrzan were married September 9, 1992 and celebrated 22 years together. Mike previously ran the Alba General Store and was the Alba Postmaster for many years. His memberships included the Troy American Legion and was a past member of the Troy Lions Club. He was a devout Boston Red Sox Fan and enjoyed carpentry and reading in his past time.
Survivors include his wife Frances C, Chopak of Troy, children, Merilu & Rev. William O’Dell of Holland, NY, Aaron & Debra O’Dell of Freeport, PA, Bradley & Jamie O’Dell of Levittown, PA, Emily & Todd Doring of Cheektowaga, NY, Michael G. Chopak of Alba, PA, stepchildren, David & Judy Johnston of Columbia Cross Roads, PA, Doreen Wandell & Bob Jamison of Elmira Heights, Brenda & Kevin Kipferl of Millerton, PA, Brian & Heather Johnston of Gillett, PA, 10 grandchildren, 8 step-grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, a sister and brother-in-law, Marlene & Joseph Jakes of Clark Summit, PA, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mike was predeceased by his parents and a brother Joseph Chopak.
