Dean L. Johnson, Sr.

Dean L. Johnson, Sr., Age 72, of the Austinville Road, Troy, PA passed away Friday, January 27, 2017 at the Robert Packer Hospital. Dean was born September 4, 1944 son of the late Leon and Esther (Eddy) Johnson. Dean was a US Army Veteran serving two tours during the Vietnam War. He was an M.P. in Germany and a former officer with the Maryland State Police and the Canton, PA Police Department. For many years Dean owned and operated Deano's Service & Repair in Austinville. In his spare time Dean enjoyed boating on Lake Ontario, and enjoyed his daily visits with all his friends that stopped by his repair shop.

Survivors include two sons, Dean (Annette) Johnson, II of Austinville, Ben (Heather) Johnson of Arnot, a daughter, Tina Gillis Johnson of East Canton, three brothers, Donald (Carol) Eddy, Gary (Donna) Eddy, Duane Johnson, his sister, Judy Withey all of Austinville, seven grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, one great-grandchild, several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was predeceased by his parents and his brother Gerald.

Family and friends are invited to a memorial service at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at the Austinville Union Church, 2977 Austinville Road, Troy, PA 16947 with Reverend Ken Marple officiating. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Gerald W. Vickery Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc. 1093 West Main Street, Troy, PA.
