William W. Raymond

William W. “Bill” Raymond, Age 84, of Millerton, PA passed away at home on Wednesday, October 19, 2016. Bill was born February 5, 1932 in West Burlington Township, son of the late Dealton A. and Florence A. (Vogel) Raymond. He was a graduate of SRU High School Class of 1950. He served with the US Army from 1952 to 1954 during the Korean War. Bill retired in 1998 from Cameron Manufacturing in Horseheads where he worked as a sheet metal mechanic and later as a supervisor and estimator. Prior to his employment at Cameron’s he worked at American LaFrance from 1952 to 1981, Ward 79 from 1981 to 1985 and Kovach Mobile Equipment from 1985 to 1988. He was married to Juanita “Jackie” M. (Jackson) Raymond on January 15, 2000. Bill enjoyed hunting and the outdoors, traveling to Florida in their motor home and playing cards. He and his wife Jackie attended SRU Alumni and Reunion events and graduated together in 1950. Bill loved time spent with his family especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife Jackie  M. Raymond of Millerton, sons, Laurence W. (Cheryl) Raymond of Litchfield, Michael J. Raymond of Elmira, Jeffery L. (Minoli) Raymond of Virginia Beach, VA, daughter, Marcia L. Raymond of Sayre, step-daughters, Bonnie L. (Harold) Bailey of Millerton, Yvonne M. (Robert) Johnson of Mt. Joy; grandchildren, Brett M. Pietro (Roberta), Jared M. Barto (Sara), Michael (Jenifer) Raymond, Leteycia Raymond, Erica McLaughlin (Dutch) Matthew (Kris) Bailey, Melissa (Jason) Petersheim and Noah Arslan, Jessica Raymond, Christina Raymond, 12 great-grandchildren; brothers, Dealton (Wanda) Raymond, Jr. of SC, Richard (Patricia) Raymond of Columbia Cross Roads, sisters; Betty Jones of Wellsburg, Anna Belle (Ken) Baldassarre of Alpine Junction, several nieces and nephews.

Bill was predeceased by his parents and by his, first wife Barbara D. (Krauss) Raymond on December 27, 1998.

Family and friends are invited to a Memorial Service at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at the Millerton United Methodist Church, 5443 Main Street, Millerton, PA with Lay Pastor LaVerne Jackson officiating. Interment with military honors will be in Bradford County Memorial Park, Luthers Mills.
