William Bruce Staudt, lovingly known as Bruce, passed away peacefully at his residence in Troy, PA on October 22, 2023. He was born on December 9, 1944, in Troy, PA. Bruce was 78 years old at the time of his passing.
Bruce had a successful career as a custom builder and co-owner of William Staudt & Sons Builders. He took great pride in his work and left behind a legacy of craftsmanship and dedication. Aside from his profession, Bruce had a variety of interests that brought him joy. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, particularly finding delight in turkey hunting.
Bruce was a longstanding member of the Austinvlle Union Church, where he served as a deacon and contributed his beautiful voice to the choir for over 40 years. He was also a founding member of the Troy Farm Museum and actively participated in organizations such as the Columbia Grange and the Antique Tractor Association. As a former boy scout himself, Bruce became a devoted boy scout leader, guiding and inspiring young scouts along their own journeys.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Kathleen A. (Harkness) Staudt, and their children, Christopher (Lynette) Staudt of Troy, PA and Mindy Staudt and husband Stephen Burchard of Columbia Cross Roads, PA. Bruce's legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren, Renee' (Timothy) Gower, Lindsey (Garrett) Shults, and Lisa Staudt, as well as his great-grandchild, Leighton Gower. He is also survived by his sister, Elaine Balmer of Pine City, NY, and brother, Robert (Linda) Staudt of Troy, PA, along with several nieces and nephews. Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, William B. and Corlinda (Warner) Staudt, as well as his brother-in-law, Paul Balmer, Sr.
The memorial service honoring Bruce's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Sunday, November 12, 2023 at the Austinville Union Church, located at 2977 Austinville Rd, Troy, PA with his pastor, Rev. Kenneth Marple officiating. Burial will take place privately in Glenwood Cemetery, respecting the wishes of Bruce's family.
