Susan E. (Dubs) Reichard

Susan E. (Dubs) Reichard, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, peacefully passed away at home on November 4, 2023, at the age of 71. She was born on October 27, 1952, in Troy, NC, to the late Richard F. and Betty Ann (Ledbetter) Dubs. Susan dedicated her life to education and nurturing young minds as a teacher and librarian for the Troy area School District. Her passion for literature extended beyond the classroom, as she was also a published author and an avid book lover. Susan found solace and joy in the pages of countless books, always eager to explore new worlds and perspectives. Aside from her literary pursuits, Susan had a deep appreciation for music. She was a proud Beatles and Billy Joel fan, finding comfort and inspiration in their timeless melodies. Nature held a special place in her heart, with the beach being one of her favorite destinations. Whether it was the gentle crash of waves or the feel of sand beneath her feet, Susan felt a profound connection to the natural world.

Susan is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, David R. Reichard, Sr. Together, they created a beautiful family and legacy. She will be deeply missed by her children: David R. Reichard, Jr. of Jacksonville, FL, Jennifer (Brian) Starks of Bethlehem, PA, Rebecca Mickley of Horseheads, NY, and Sarah (Mitchell MacDougall) Reichard of Hector, NY. Susan's memory will live on through her cherished grandchildren: Ashley (Jack) Hobbie, Alicia Reichard, Serena Starks, Emily Starks, Maxwell Mickley, and Fallon Mickley. She was also blessed with great-granddaughters Abigail, Hailey, and Kylie. In addition, Susan is survived by her sister, Kay A. Jones of Hellertown, PA, and two nephews. She cherished her family and friends deeply, and they will forever hold her close in their hearts. Susan was preceded in death by her parents and her son-in-law Darwin Mickley.

A memorial gathering to celebrate Susan's life will be held on Sunday, November 12, 2023, from 2:00-4:00 PM at the Gerald W. Vickery, Jr. Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc., located at 1093 West Main St., Troy, PA 16947.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to the Troy Intermediate School Library, located at 68 Fenner Ave., Troy, PA 16947. These contributions will honor Susan's passion for education and ensure that future generations continue to benefit from the power of literature.
