“God looked down on his planned paradise and said “I need a caretaker so God made a farmer.”” (Paul Harvey)

William “Bill” Jackson of Wetona, PA a lifelong farmer passed away peacefully on November 20, 2025 at the Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre PA. He was 86 years old.

Born at the Arnot Ogden Hospital on May 17, 1939, he was the son of LP and Lillian Jackson. He grew up on Mill-Creek Farm, where his deep love for the land and animals was sown by a very young age.

Bill was a man of action, always leading by example. He was known for his unwavering faith and his belief that "the good Lord would provide". His hands, calloused from years of hard work, were skilled in every aspect of farming, from the first spring planting to the last autumn harvest. He saw beauty in the cycle of life and death, finding a deep satisfaction in the earth's bounty, even remaining positive when times were hard.

He was a pillar of his community, known for his generosity and willingness to help neighbors with a nod and a helping hand. He understood that the strength of his community was rooted in mutual respect and support, especially in challenging times.

Bill’s legacy lives on through his children and grandchild, son Vern and spouse Tammy and their son Zachary, as well as his youngest son Jim. Bill was especially proud in that his grandson Zach was continuing with the farming legacy, becoming the 5th generation Jackson to take ownership of his beloved Mill-Creek Farm, a century farm. Bill is also survived by his sister Leatrice Braund as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Bill was predeceased by his parents, wife Phyllis and son Mike.

Bill’s work is finished, his boots are worn and his gloves are put down for the last time. He has gone to his eternal heavenly home – “Well done, good and faithful servant.”

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Endless Mountain Mission Center, 51 Mission Center Drive, Troy, PA 16947. Per Bill’s request, services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Bill will be laid to rest in the Wetona Cemetery.

Services are private and have been entrusted to the Gerald W. Vickery Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc., Troy PA.
