William C. Engelke, Jr., Age 83, of Mud Creek Road, Troy, passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at home. Bill was born June 10, 1932 in Chester, Delaware County, PA son of the late William C. and Lillian Mae (Baxter) Engelke, Sr. following graduation from high school he enlisted in the US Air Force and served his country until his retirement following 37 years of service with the US Air Force and US Air Force Reserves.
Family and friends are invited to call from 1 to 2 PM Monday, January 4, 2016 at the Gerald W. Vickery, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc. 1093 West Main Street, Troy PA. His funeral will be held there at 2 PM with Pastor Mark A. Steckiel officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow in Glenwood Cemetery, Troy.
In addition to serving his country Bill was very active on his farm. He was a crop and beef farmer on the Mud Creek Road and enjoyed his farm in the country. His memberships included the Fellowship Bible Church of Troy, Air Force Sergeants Association and liked deer hunting. Bill will be missed greatly by his family and many friends.
Survivors include his children, William C. Engelke, III of Troy, James T. Engelke (Leslie) of Green Lane, PA, Elizabeth A. Engelke (Mike) of Kunkletown, PA, Carl R. (Jessica) Engelke of Souderton, PA, step-children, Bonnie Jean (Curtis) Weigner of Lansdale, PA, Sandra Elaine Stevens of Tipp City, OH, seven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, sisters, Joyce (Dick) Dickerson, Doris (Richard) Kuhlman, many nieces, nephews and friends.
Bill was predeceased by his parents, both wives, Margaret Shaw Crystle Engelke, Sylvia Marie Crockett Ludwig Engelke, a sister, Mae VanEss, brother-in-law, Neil VanEss III and his son-in-law, Chauncy Stevens.
Memorials are directed to Fellowship Bible Church 121 Mud Creek Road, Troy, PA 16947.
