Wayne J. Barrett, Age 69, of Barrett Hill Road, Troy, passed away Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at home. He was born December 12, 1944 in Troy son of the late Robert and Ethel (Wood) Barrett. Wayne attended Troy schools he and the former Diana C. Blake were married on July 4, 2013.
Family and friends are invited to call Sunday, September 7, 2014 from 1 to 3 PM at the Gerald W. Vickery Funeral Home, Inc. Wayne’s memorial service will be held at the conclusion of calling hours at 3 PM with Pastor Mark Steckiel of the Fellowship Bible Church officiating.
Wayne was retired from the Plumbers & Pipefitters Union Local #520. He was a man that would do anything for anybody and he enjoyed helping a family member, friend or neighbor. He was a proud 50 year member of the Plumbers & Pipefitters Union. Wayne enjoyed the outdoors loving all animals around his homestead and tinkering with his tractors and his toys.
Survivors in addition to his wife Diana C. Barrett of Troy are his sons, Lonnie (Michelle) Barrett of Leroy, Scott (April) Barrett of Dillsburg, Todd (Julie) Barrett of Granville Summit, a daughter, Tina Schrader of Canton, two step-children, Tawnya (Jason) Broyles of South Dakota, David (Amy) Hunsinger of Wyalusing, brothers Fred Barrett of Troy, Gene Barrett of Pine City, Gary Barrett of Troy, twelve grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents, two sisters, Doris Ayers, Betty Matthews, and two brothers, Robert Barrett and Joe Barrett.
