On Monday, January 27, 2025, Robert Scott Morris of Troy, Pennsylvania, passed away unexpectedly from Bronchopneumonia at the age of 56. Rob lived a life of adventure, loved his family unconditionally, and treasured his time with his many friends.

Rob was born on June 7, 1968 in Troy, Pennsylvania to Harold “Huck” and Barbara “Babs” Morris in Troy, Pennsylvania. He was a graduate of Troy High School, Class of 1986. In high school, Rob played football, wrestled, and was a member of the National Honor Society, Troy Lettermen’s Club, and The Troy Cobblestones.  After high school, Rob briefly attended Penn State University before beginning his career at Global Tungsten & Powders Corporation in Towanda, Pennsylvania where he was employed for the last 37 years.

Rob was a free-spirit and loved exploring the outdoors. He enjoyed hiking, biking, fishing, kayaking, and camping with his family and friends. He looked forward to attending live music festivals and concerts, especially the Finger Lakes Grassroots Festival in Trumansburg, New York every July and even attended the Pink Floyd concert in Berlin, Germany in 1990 and the Woodstock Reunion in Woodstock, New York in 1999. Rob had a keen eye for art and photography, and many enjoyed his unique photos. Rob was also a member of the Morris Run Legion, the Pinecroft and Shepard Hills golf leagues, and participated in many golf tournaments. Rob was always ready for the next adventure and loved traveling nationally and internationally, learning about different cultures, and finding the beauty in every place he visited. Above all else, Rob loved spending time with his children and took great pride in their many achievements.

He is survived by his daughter, Amelia Kathleen (Jonathan) Chaapel of Pine City, NY; son, Jack Robert Morris of Troy, PA; Kathleen Morris of Windfall, PA; sisters, Kelly (Michael) Barrett of Springfield, PA; Meredith “Mindy” Davison of Troy, PA; special nieces and nephews: Janie Barrett, Aliah Davison, Molly Davison, and Ty Barrett. He also leaves behind a very special friend, Charliselle “Tey” Gamad, as well as, loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Rob was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Barbara Morris; grandparents, Raymond and Edith (Williams) Morris, Robert and Alice (Shaw) Scott; and brother-in-law, Michael Davison.

Family and friends are welcome to call from 1:00pm – 3:00pm on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at Gerald W. Vickery Jr. Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc., 1093 W.
