Robert "Bob" L. Case, cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 26, 2025, at the age of 90 at Bradford Hills Nursing and Rehabilitation. Born on September 25, 1935, in Troy, Pennsylvania, Bob lived a life rich in service, dedication, and love.
A proud graduate of Troy High School, Class of 1952, Bob served his country with honor as a veteran of the United States Army, where he was stationed in Germany alongside his beloved wife, Dorna. The two were united in marriage on August 4, 1957, at the Baptist church in Leroy, PA, and spent 68 devoted years together.
Bob worked as an electrician for the Sylvania plant in Towanda for over three decades before becoming self-employed, where he continued to utilize his skills and passion for his trade. His love for the outdoors was evident in his hobbies, which included making maple syrup and candy with Dorna by his side and cutting firewood to keep families warm during the winter months.
He was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church of Troy, where his faith guided his life and actions. Bob's legacy of kindness and generosity will be remembered by all who knew him.
Bob is survived by his loving wife, Dorna; daughter Kathleen (John) Hurlburt of Troy; sons Gary Case of Troy and Chad Case of Martha Lloyd's resident home Cedar Ridge in Canton, PA; grandchildren Megan (Jacob) Johnson of Troy and Brooks (Miranda) Hurlburt of Troy; and great-grandchildren Jerome Schram, Jr. (fiancée Mikayla Palmer/Bacon) of Scotch Plains, NJ, Brennan Johnson, Ian Hurlburt, and Reed Hurlburt, all at home. He is also survived by his sister Geraldine Lewis Stevenson, sister-in-law Joyce Case, and several nieces and nephews. Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Nelson and Marian (Inman) Case, his brother Glen Case and Alton Case, and four siblings who passed at birth
A memorial gathering to celebrate Bob's life will be held from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Sunday, December 7, 2025, at Bradford Hills Nursing and Rehabilitation, 3rd Floor Activities Room, 15990 Route 6, Troy, PA 16947. The Troy Veterans Honor Guard will perform military rites at 1:45 PM. The Gerald W. Vickery, Jr. Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc. has been entrusted with the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Troy, 579 Canton St, Troy, PA 16947, or to the Troy Vet's Club, 183 Veterans Dr., Troy, PA 16947. Special thanks and appreciation are extended to Becky Burrous, Stephanie Harer, and Dawn Lewis for their compassionate care of Bob while he was at home.
