Phyllis A. (Smith) Miller, Age 88, formerly of Austinville Road, Columbia Cross Roads passed away Sunday, August 3, 2014 on her 88th birthday at the Bradford County Manor. Phyllis was born August 3, 1926 in Waverly, NY daughter of the late Ray E. and Dora M. Smith.
Family and friends are invited to call Thursday, August 7, 2014 from 11 AM to 12 PM at the Gerald W. Vickery, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc. 1093 West Main Street, Troy, PA. Phyllis’s service will be held at the conclusion of calling hours at 12 PM with Reverend Ken Marple officiating. Interment will follow in Columbia Valley Cemetery.
Phyllis owned and operated Bono’s Coffee Shop in East Troy for 17 years. She was a member of the Austinville Union Church. Phyllis was a dedicated mother, grandmother and enjoyed crocheting, crafts, cooking and spending time with her loving family.
She is survived by five sons and three daughters, Donald Strope, Jr. of Troy, Dennis (Mary) Strope of South Carolina, Tom (Barb) Strope of Granville, Jeffrey (Julie) Strope of Austinville, William (Jody) Franks of Gillett, Pamela (Mike) McCarthy of Corning, NY, Dora Smith of Troy, Sylvia “Janie” Spencer of Elmira, NY, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, five step-children, several nieces and nephews.
Phyllis was predeceased by her parents, husbands a sister and five brothers.
Memorials in her memory may be made to the Austinville Union Church, 8698 Old State Road, Troy, PA 16947.
