Paula L. (Sterling) Mallory

Canton, PA

Paula L. (Sterling) Mallory, affectionately known as “Helen” by her family, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2024, in Canton, Pennsylvania, at the age of 81. Born on September 16, 1943, in Elmira, New York, Paula lived a life full of love, devotion, and kindness.

After retiring from Hardinge, Inc. in Elmira, NY, Paula dedicated many years of her life as a Care Giver for Care Givers of America Home Health Care, where she was known for her compassionate spirit and unwavering dedication to helping others. Her warm heart and generous nature left a lasting impression on all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

In her youth, Paula enjoyed bowling and playing softball, pastimes that brought her much joy and camaraderie. Later in life, she found great delight in playing board games and cherished every moment spent with her beloved family and feline companions.

She is survived by her devoted son, Gordon Mallory, and his wife Jennifer of Wellsburg, NY; her treasured grandchildren, Ben Smith and his wife Sarrah, Michelle Smith, and Katelyn Lewis and her husband Andrew; and her adored great-grandchildren, Noah, Amelia, Anastasia, and Axel. She also leaves behind her brothers, Stanley Sterling and his wife Debbie, and Steve Sterling and his wife Sally, all of Gillett, PA, as well as her son-in-law, David Denham of Canton, PA, along with several nieces and nephews. Paula was preceded in death by her loving parents, Paul and Lillian (Brown) Sterling, and her dear daughter, Susan Smith who passed away on January 6, 2024. Paula’s legacy is one of love, generosity, and an unyielding devotion to her family. Her memory will forever be cherished by those who had the privilege to know her.

In accordance with her family's wishes, services for Paula will be private. The family appreciates the support and understanding during this time of mourning. The Gerald W. Vickery, Jr. Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc. 1093 W Main St. Troy, PA has been entrusted with the arrangements.
