Henry W. Saxton

Henry W. Saxton, Age 54, of Granville Summit passed away Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at home as a result of an accident. Henry was born April 6, 1963 in Troy the son of Kay Helen (Kennedy) Saxton and the late Stanley C. Saxton. Henry was a graduate of the Troy High School Class of 1981 and attended Williamsport Community College. He and the former Lori A. Lowry were married on September 15, 1990 and celebrated 26 years together. Henry was a lifelong farmer and steward of the land. He operated his Holstein Dairy Farm in Granville Summit and enjoyed planting and harvesting his crops. He was currently the Granville Town Supervisor and in his spare time enjoyed reading historical non-fiction, snowmobiling and he devoted his life to his family and farm.

Survivors include his loving wife Lori A. Saxton of Granville Summit, two daughters, Melissa L. (Wayne) Welshans of Fayetteville, NY, Tabatha (Frank Auge) Saxton of Tioga Center, NY, his mother Kay H. Saxton of Granville Summit, granddaughter Magnolia Lori Rose Welshans, of Fayetteville, NY, three sisters, Rebecca (Gary) Polly of Troy, Emilie (John) Ormond of Smithfield, VA, Martha (Craig) Havens of Granville Summit, several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Henry was predeceased by his father Stanley C. Saxton on January 3, 2012.

Family and friends are invited to call Friday, July 28, 2017 from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM at the Granville Center Church of Christ, 5753 Route 514, Granville Summit, PA 16926. His funeral will be held there at 11 AM on Saturday, July 29, 2017 with Mr. Lee Modlin officiating. Interment will follow in Granville Center Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Gerald W. Vickery, Jr. Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc. 1093 West Main Street Troy, PA 16947.
