It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mary M. (Krise) Dunbar, 66, of Troy, who passed away at home on February 27, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on December 7, 1958 in Troy, Mary was the daughter of the late Ernest Krise and Margaret (Chrzan) Krise, who survives her. Mary was a graduate of Troy High School, the class of 1976, and later went on to pursue nursing studies.
On June 29, 1990, Mary married the love of her life, Thomas E. Dunbar, in Troy, and together they shared a life full of love, joy, and cherished memories.
Mary was a dedicated and hardworking woman. She spent many years working at Troy Lunch and Krises’ Tire, where she was known for her kind heart and commitment to her work. She retired recently, after many years of service.
Mary was deeply involved in her community, as a proud member of the Troy Firehouse Women’s Auxiliary. She had a special fondness for gathering with her loved ones, especially her grandchildren, and could often be found enjoying car rides or serving spaghetti dinners at the firehouse. She will be remembered for her warmth, compassion, and the care she always extended to those around her.
She is survived by her loving husband, Tom; her son, Ryan (Elisabeth) Vargson; her stepchildren, Kevin Dunbar and Lisa (Richard Turner) Dunbar; her mother, Margaret Krise; her grandchildren, Noah and Emma Vargson, Makayla Towne, and Alivia Borsheim; her siblings, Ronald L.
