Lillian (Brown) Welch

TROY-Lillian (Brown) Welch, 91, of Troy, PA passed away on Monday, June 16, 2014 at the Bradford County Manor. She was the wife of the late Darwin Welch who passed away in 1993.
Lillian was born on November 6, 1922 in Leona, PA daughter of the late Irvin and Marjorie (Williams) Brown. She was a farmer most of her life and especially enjoyed tending to the cows. Lillian was a past secretary of the Checkerville Grange and bowled in both the Couples and Ladies League at Terrace Lanes. While living in Gillett, Lillian was on the Board of Elections for South Creek Township.
Lillian is survived by her children: Paula L. Mallory of Troy, PA, Stanley A. (Debra) Sterling and Steve M. (Sally) Sterling, both of Gillett, PA, her grandchildren: Susan (David) Denham of Troy, PA, Linda (George) Slobodnyak of Horseheads, NY, Gordon (Jennifer) Mallory of Wellsburg, NY, Marissa (Kevin) Hammond of Chemung, NY, Tony (Mindy) Sterling of Lancaster, PA Chad (Paula) Sterling of Gillett, PA, Lynette (Anthony) Sterling of Georgia, Travis (Annika) Sterling and Brooke Sterling, both of Gillett, PA, ten great grandchildren, Darwin’s children: Janice, Kenny, Chuck, and Phyllis and their families, her sister Geraldine (Clayton) Crout of Canton, PA, along with several nieces and nephews.
Lillian was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Darwin, her brothers: Burton Brown and Russell Brown, and her sister Evelyn Seymour.
Services for Lillian will be private and at the convenience of her family. The Gerald W. Vickery, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc. 1093 West Main Street Troy, PA has been entrusted with the arrangements.
