J. Ralph Foulkrod

John R. “Ralph” Foulkrod, Sr., 72, of Austinville, PA, passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA.  He was the loving husband of Caroline Ann (Carl) Foulkrod.  The couple married November 11, 1967 and had 49 happy years together.

Ralph was born on October 3, 1944 in Troy, PA, son of the late Ernest and Kathryn (Cornell) Foulkrod.  He was a 1962 graduate of Troy High School, worked in the logging industry and later went to work for Craft Master where he was a line worker and fork lift operator until he retired.  When not working Ralph enjoyed helping others and his community. He was on the Western Alliance ambulance crew for over 10 years, was a Boy Scout leader, and was involved in the Troy Auxiliary Police.  Ralph was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge and attended Fellowship Bible Church.

Ralph is survived by his wife Caroline, his sons John (Dawn) Foulkrod of Austinville, and Ernest (Kimberly) Foulkrod of Columbia Cross Roads, his granddaughters Carol, Beth, Beka, and Faith, his sisters Margaret (Paul) Winder, Louise Foulkrod, and Donna (Clarence Atwood, all of Troy, along with a niece and nephew.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

Family and friends are welcome to call from 6:00-8:00 pm on Sunday, January 22, 2017 at the Gerald W. Vickery, Jr. Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc. 1093 West Main Street Troy, PA, and again from 10:00-11:00 am on Monday, January 23, 2017 at the Austinville Union Church, Austinville Road in Austinville.  The funeral service to honor Ralph’s life will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, January 23rd at the church with his pastor, Rev. Mark Steckiel officiating. Burial will be private in Windfall Cemetery.
