Helen L. (Scott) Roberts, 70, of Sylvania, PA passed away on Sunday, August 17, 2014 at the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA. She was the loving wife of the late Leon W. “Sonny” Roberts, Jr. who passed away on July 20, 2006. The couple married August 4, 1962 and had 44 happy years together.
Family and friends are welcome to call from 2:00-3:00 pm on Friday, August 22, 2014 at the Gerald W. Vickery Funeral Home Inc., 1093 West Main Street, Troy, Pa. The funeral service to honor Helen’s life will be held at 3:00 pm on Friday, August 22nd at the funeral home with Rev. Daniel Pickering officiating. Private burial will be at the convenience of Helen’s family in Bradford County Memorial Park.
Helen was born on May 27, 1944 in Sayre, PA, daughter of the late George E. and Doris A. (Benson) Scott. She was a 1962 graduate of Troy High School. Helen enjoyed crocheting, camping with Sonny, and spending time with her grandchildren. Helen was more than a homemaker, she was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
Helen’s family includes: her children; Melissa Baquis and partner Todd J. Short of Montgomery, PA, and Christopher Roberts of Canisteo, NY, her grandchildren; Kyle Roberts, Kelsey Roberts, Kameron Roberts, Madison Short, and Geoffrey Short, her sister Georgia Pepper of Troy, PA, and her nephew Joel Pepper and his family.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Sonny, her son Jeff, and her daughter-in-law Denise.
Memorial contributions may be made in Helen's memory to the Montgomery High School Marching Band 160 Penn Street Montgomery, PA 17752.
