Gilbert S. Dobak

Gilbert S. Dobak, 94, of Troy, PA, passed away on January 15, 2025 at the Troy Guthrie Community Hospital, with his wife Janet by his side.

Born on October 19, 1930 in New Brunswick, NJ, he was a son of Frederick Dobak and Lillian (Blue) Hallad.

After High School, Gilbert enlisted into the Army and served 25 years. He was a Korean and Vietnam War veteran, retiring as a Sergeant First Class. When Gilbert moved to the Troy area he worked as a tool and die maker for Bennett Die and Tool in Horseheads, NY.

He married Janet Schmouder in Troy on July 23, 1977.

Gilbert enjoyed being outdoors in his garden, feeding the deer in his yard, and also spending time with his friends fishing in Pennsylvania and New York.

He is survived by his wife Janet (Schmouder) Dobak, of Troy, PA.
