Gary E. Wolfe, Age 67, of Berwick Turnpike, Burlington, PA, passed away at home with his loving family by his side on Friday, December 4, 2015. Gary was born March 19, 1948 in Granville Summit, PA son of the late Howard & Alwilda (Boyce) Wolfe. He was a graduate of Troy High School. Gary entered the US Army and served his country in Vietnam from 1968 to 1969. Gary was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Air Medal, and Bronze Star Medal for his service to his country. He was the proprietor of Wolfe’s Garage in Burlington for many years and had previously driven school bus for the Troy and Athens School Districts and operated a gun shop in Burlington. He was currently employed at JELD-WEN as an electrician. Gary attended the Burlington Methodist Church, was a life member of the Troy Fire Department and Past President and Member of the Burlington Borough Council. He also enjoyed guns, hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his loving wife of 21 years, Martha M. (Warner) Wolfe of Burlington, PA, a son Garry (Amy Whyte) Wolfe of Powell, PA, his daughter and son-in-law, Julie (Doug) Lafy of North Towanda, PA, step-sons, Christopher (Rebecca) Wayman of Owego, NY, Steven Wayman of SC, six grandchildren, Camron (Stephanie) Kneebone, Haley (Nick) Huppert, Ashlyn, Amber, Hunter, Lydia Wolfe, two great-grandchildren, Aiden Kneebone and Rynee Wolfe, two brothers, Walter A. (Elaine Frey) Wolfe of Troy, PA, Nelson E. (Susan) Wolfe of Burlington, PA, sister-in-law, Betty L. Wolfe of Burlington, PA, brother-in-law, David (Sharon) Warner of Sayre, PA, several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Gary was predeceased by his parents, a brother, Daniel S. Wolfe, step-mother, Kathryn Wolfe and brother-in-law, Gerald Warner.
Family and Friends are welcome to gather from 10:00-11:00 AM on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at the Burlington United Methodist Church, near the crossroads of Route 6 on the Berwick Turnpike in Burlington, PA. The memorial service to honor Gary’s life will be at 11:00 AM on December 19th at the church with Rev. Duane Taylor officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Gerald W. Vickery Funeral Home, Inc. 1093 West Main Street, Troy, PA.
