Frances Elaine June (Perry) Carter

Frances Elaine June (Perry) Carter, 83 of West Burlington, PA, passed away on Sunday, December 9, 2018 at the Bradford County Manor surrounded by her family. She was the loving wife of the late Mark Taylor Carter, Sr. who passed away on October 11, 2008. The couple married in 1963 and had over 45 happy years together.

Fran was born on June 21, 1935 in Amherst, NY, daughter of the late William Perry and Eleanor Lowenstein.  For several years Fran was a salesperson at Sears until her retirement in 2008.  She attended East Troy Baptist Church, enjoyed cooking and canning, sewing, and playing the lottery. To her, family was everything, especially her grandchildren, and she looked forward to family gatherings and holidays.

Fran is survived by her children Teresa (John) Neiley of Camptown, PA, Patricia Terreros of Allentown, PA, Mark (Mayme) Carter of Troy, PA, Jay (Sheila) Carter of Reading, PA, Jeff (Carol) Carter of Wilkes-Barre, PA, Mary Lee (Mark) Peterson of Ithaca, NY, and Joel (Emily) Carter of New Jersey, 26 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, her brothers, Carlton (JoAnn) Perry of Mt. Morris, NY, and Peter (Carol) Simon of Lakeland, FL, her sisters Martha (Kirby) Herman of Elizabethton, TN, and Gloria Briggs of Warsaw, NY, along with several nieces and nephews.  Fran was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Mark Sr., her son Dennis Carter, along with her brothers Gerald and Clifford Perry.

Family and friends are welcome to call from 4:00-5:30 PM on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at the Gerald W. Vickery, Jr. Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc., 1093 West Main Street, Troy, PA.  The memorial service to honor Fran’s life will be held at the conclusion of the visitation at 5:30 PM on Thursday, December 13th at the funeral home with Rev. Ozzie Osgood officiating.  Burial will be in Hickok Cemetery at the convenience of Fran’s family.
