Esther Watson

Esther E. Watson, born on November 16, 1929, in Wells Township, PA peacefully passed away on February 24, 2024, in Wellsboro, PA. Esther lived a wonderful 94 years.

Esther dedicated over 70 years of her life to the noble profession of nursing. She commenced her career as a registered nurse in Troy, PA, after graduating from high school. Her selfless service and compassionate care touched the lives of many during her time in Troy from 1950 to 1964. Esther then continued her journey in Morristown, NJ, where she found fulfillment in her work until her unofficial retirement in 2019. Despite stepping back from official duties, Esther continued to share her healing touch with her community whenever possible.

Animals held a special place in Esther's heart, with dogs being her ultimate favorite. In honor of Esther's memory, the family requests that donations be made to an animal shelter of your choosing in lieu of flowers.

Esther was preceded in death by her parents, William Watson, and Florence (Wright) Watson, Cherishing her memory are her loving sister Sylvia W. Roy, beloved nephew LaRue and Ann Roy; Davis and Jay; Gladys Roy; Michael and Amy Rocok; along with several nieces and nephews.

A viewing with calling hours will be held on Friday, March 1, 2024, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., followed by a funeral service officiated by Pastor Ozzie Osgood. Esther will be laid to rest at the Gillett Cemetery in Gillett, PA.
