Ernest Dean Krise, affectionately known as Ernie, peacefully passed away at his residence in Farmers Valley, PA on May 2, 2024, at the age of 89 surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of Margaret Mary (Chrzan) Krise. The couple married August 7, 1954 and had 69 happy years together.
Ernie was born on March 12, 1935, in Sayre, PA, son of the late Kenneth C. and Hazel (Walborn) Krise. Ernie's life was marked by hard work and dedication. He began his journey in the world of mechanics by fixing bicycles as a child and later became the top salesman at Hall's Motors from 1956 to 1979. In 1981, Ernie and his brother Dale established Krises Tire and he devoted himself to the business until his passing in 2024.
Known for his exceptional skills in repairing anything with a motor, Ernie found joy in helping his children remodel and enhance their homes. He also cherished casino trips and family outings, creating countless memories with loved ones.
Ernie was a proud member of the Sons of the American Legion Post 49 in Troy, PA, and a faithful attendee of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church. His accomplishments as a member of the Troy Bowling Hall of Fame and the esteemed 700 Club reflected his dedication and passion for the sport.
He will be deeply missed by his beloved wife Margaret Mary (Chrzan) Krise, his children: Ronald L. (Marilynn) Krise of Troy, Roxanne M. (Alan) Roloson of Farmers Valley, Mary M. (Thomas) Dunbar of Troy, Barbara J. Krise (John Ott) of Farmers Valley, Sharon L. (Rodney) Watson of Berrytown, and Kenneth E. Krise (Amy Webster) of Troy, grandchildren: Jennifer, Terri, Jessica, Ryan, Kevin, Lisa, Matthew, Emily, Nicholas, Tracy, Eric, Marcia, Benjamin, Sharla along with several great and great-great grandchildren, brothers Bradley Krise of Canton, and James (Lorianne) Krise of Montour Falls, NY, sister-in-law Shelby Krise, and several nieces and nephews. Ernie is reunited in eternal peace with his parents Kenneth C. and Hazel Krise, as well as his siblings Shirley, Dale, and Leroy.
A private family gathering to honor Ernie's life will be held at a later date. The Gerald W. Vickery, Jr. Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc. 1093 West Main St. Troy, PA has been entrusted with the arrangements.
