Eric Fleitz Husted, of West Burlington Township, a devoted husband, father, and dedicated member of his community, passed away on February 13, 2026, at the age of 77. Born on October 18, 1948, in Millville, NJ, he spent his final days surrounded by loved ones at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY.
Eric was a talented chemical engineer who dedicated many years of service to Osram Sylvania in Towanda, PA. Beyond his professional life, Eric was deeply committed to his faith and community. A long-time member of East Troy Baptist Church, he served as a deacon, sang in the choir, acted as a trustee, and took charge of the church's Good Samaritan fund. His passion for nurturing young minds shone through his role as a youth leader for the Baptist church’s youth group in Troy.
His devotion extended beyond the church, as he was an integral part of His Thousand Hills Church Camp in Wellsboro, PA, where he served as a board member, camp director, caretaker, and volunteer bookkeeper. Eric also contributed his time and talents as an office volunteer for New Beginnings Ministry in Canton, PA, and brought joy to others as a puppeteer. His compassionate spirit touched many lives during his volunteer work at the Bradford County Manor/Bradford Hills.
Eric is survived by his beloved wife, Judy Ellen (Cole) Husted; his daughter, Sarah (Brett) Husted-Kendall of Gillett, PA; his son, Andrew (Renee) Husted of Wellsburg, NY; and grandsons, Justin Kendall and Hunter (Elisabeth) Kendall. He also leaves behind his brothers, Scott (Linda) Husted of Binghamton, NY, and Ron Husted of Holly, MI; sister-in-law, Janet Mattocks of Springfield, PA; along with several cherished nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin Fleitz and Enid (Kramer) Husted, and his brother-in-law, Dale Mattocks.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at East Troy Baptist Church, located at 9551 US Route 6, Troy, PA 16947. The memorial service to celebrate Eric's life will follow at 12:00 PM, with Pastor Lynn Lockwood officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to East Troy Baptist Church or His Thousand Hills Church Camp, honoring Eric's lifelong dedication to his faith and community.
