Ellis T Young

Ellis Tracy Young, 98, of Ulster, PA passed away peacefully on September 13th, 2025, at the Guthrie Robert Packer Skilled Nursing Facility in Towanda, PA.

He was born in Coryland, PA on November 25th, 1926, to Tracy and Charlotte (McClure) Young. Ellis was a man of unwavering integrity and kindness.

Upon graduating from Troy High School, Ellis was drafted into the United States Army.

Following his honorable discharge, he married his late wife Claire (Burnham) and began working at Hoover’s Hardware. He later retired from a long career at American Silk Label. Ellis was an exceptional craftsman who enjoyed spending time in his wood working shop where he created beautiful gifts for his family and friends.

Ellis was preceded in death by his parents, late wife, and brothers Nelson and John Young.

Ellis is survived by his wife Beverly (Wittie), daughters Laurie (Jeff) Castle of Troy, Carol Hobday of Athens, son David (Lauri) Young of Troy, stepchildren Cassie Williams of Elmira, Michael Williams of Ulster, Tammy Williams of Ulster, Scott (Kate) Williams of Ulster, and sister Janice Congdon of Coryland. Ellis was a proud and loving grandfather to his many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He will be fondly remembered by his cherished friends and extended family. Ellis’ love, wisdom and generosity touched everyone he met, and his legacy will continue to inspire those who knew him.

Friends and family are invited to attend a graveside service at the Glenwood Cemetery in Troy, PA on Friday, September 19th, 2025, at 11 AM.
