Elizabeth “Betty” (McCabe) Williams, 95 of Alpharetta, GA and formerly of Troy, PA passed away in Alpharetta, GA on April 22, 2025.
She was born at home on February 14,1930 in Blakely, PA. Betty was a daughter of Gerald and Elizabeth (Edwards) McCabe.
Betty was a graduate of Blakely High School, Class of 1947. She was a 1951 graduate of Mansfield State Teachers College with a Bachelor’s degree in Education; Science and Math. She also received a Master’s degree in Special Education from Mansfield State University. Betty was a member of Kappa Delta Pi. She was employed as a math and science teacher for the Troy School district for many years. She moved to Kingston, PA in 1983 and continued her teaching career at Wyoming Seminary College Preparatory School.
Betty was a member of the First Baptist Church of Troy and the Eastern Star. She enjoyed travel, vacations at the beach, Bridge, crosswords, bowling, gardening, and cherished being with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
On December 28, 1951 she married Vincent C, Williams of State College, PA who preceded her in death on November 1,1971. On June 6,1994 she married a childhood friend, Thomas A. Williams of Peckville, PA. He preceded her in death on January 17, 2018.
Betty is survived by her sister Dorothy McCabe Gordon, of Sarasota, FL, her children; Dr. Jeffery Williams (Lucy) of Phoenix, AZ, Lisa Williams of Billings, MT, and Amy Woodward (Marvin) of Johns Creek, GA. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Garrett Griffin, Robert Williams (Shannon), Shannon Williams Santana (Nic), Lindsay Woodward Vrabic (Ryan) and Valarie Woodward Lietzke (Jameson) and seven great grandchildren.
Betty will be interred in Glenwood Cemetery, Troy, PA in a private service.
