Dorothy O. “Dottie” (Field) Kuyper, 75, of Troy, PA went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at her home with her family by her side. She was the loving wife of John C. “Jack” Kuyper. The couple married June 4, 1960 and had 54 wonderful years together.
The memorial service to honor Dottie’s life will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, February 8, 2015 at the Austinville Union Church, Austinville Road Columbia Cross Roads, PA, with her pastor and friend, Rev. Kenneth Marple, officiating. The Gerald W. Vickery, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc. 1093 West Main Street, Troy, PA has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
Dottie was born on February 4, 1939 in Morrisville, NY, daughter of the late William and Olwen (Jones) Field. She was a graduate of Morrisville Central School, Class of 1957. After her marriage to Jack, Dottie and he moved to Troy, PA and opened the Armenia Mountain Trading Post where she was the business manager. She was a member of the Austinville Union Church, enjoyed gardening and interior decorating, and she and Jack enjoyed traveling together.
Dottie is survived by her husband Jack, her son Clint (Loretta Kuyper of Mead, CO, her daughter Jen (Kirt) Casler of Columbia Cross Roads, PA, her grandchildren: Lynze (Nathan) Mewhort, Tately Casler, Lukas Kuyper, and Kallie Kuyper, her great grandchildren David and Evellyn Mewhort, her brother Donald (Shirl) Field of Mooresville, NC, and several nieces and nephews. Dottie was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters: Barbara Niles, Eleanor Abbuhl, and Katie Laube.
