Donald B. Bruce, born July 22, 1926 died September 18, 2014 in Troy, PA.
Don was a lifelong resident of Troy, leaving only to serve in the US Marines from 1944-1947. He returned home and was employed by Troy Dairy and later, Eastern Milk Producers as their milk tester. He was a lifetime member of the Troy Volunteer Fire Department and the American Legion.
Don was predeceased by his parents Roy and Nina (Smith) Bruce, his sister Eloise, and his brother George. He is survived by his brothers Bob of Troy, Harry of Bentley Creek, and Harold of Rehoboth, DE. Don is also survived by his loving wife of 65 years Elaine, his daughter Maxine (Jim) of Johnson City, NY, and his two sons Michael “Mickey” and Donald E. (Leslee), both of Troy. Don was proud of his grandchildren Amy, Stephani, and Travis. His great grandsons Colynn, Gaige, Brandon and his great granddaughters Adelaine and JaydaRae were a blessing as well. The Bruce clan is a large and boisterous one and there are many nieces and nephews surviving him.
Don cared for and will be missed by many friends in the Troy area, every inch of sidewalk in the town of Troy would have been touched by him during his long life. He never dreamed of living anywhere else.
Don requested no calling hours and a private service will be held at the convenience of his family. The Gerald W. Vickery, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc. 1093 West Main Street, Troy, PA has been entrusted with the arrangements.
