Dale L. Smith

Dale L. Smith, Age 63 of Troy, passed away at home on Wednesday, May 6, 2015. Dale was born March 13, 1952 in Troy son of the late Erle and Gladys (Kring) Smith. He was a graduate of Troy High School and moved to the Washington, DC area after graduating from diesel mechanics school in Williamsport. While there he became a United States Park Police Officer a job that he loved. He later moved back to the Troy area and was involved in the care of his mother for many years. Dale was a member of the Troy Trojan Lodge #326 F & AM. He also enjoyed volunteering with the Lions Club and at Mt. Pisgah State Park at their butterfly exhibit. He could often be found and having breakfast at the Edgewood and later Moose’s Munchies visiting with his friends.

He is survived by his loving family a sister and brother-in-law, Donna (Charles) Grezlak of Doylestown, PA, a brother and sister-in-law, Glenn (Dawn) Smith of Warrenton, VA, several nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

A memorial gathering to honor Dale’s life will be held from 3:00 pm-6:00 pm on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at the Milky Way Restaurant, 16867 Route 14 Troy, PA 16947. Arrangements are under the direction of the Gerald W. Vickery, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc. 1093 West Main Street, Troy, PA.
