Cecelia Rose (Burlingame) Vanderpool, 63, of Columbia Crossroads, went home to be with the Lord on March 29, 2025, with her daughters by her side.
Born on October 31, 1961, in Sayre, PA, she was the daughter of Ervin and Blanche (Wells) Burlingame.
Cecelia was a graduate of Troy High School, Class of 1980, later continuing on to nursing school where she became an LPN, working for the Bradford County Manor until 2008.
Cecelia enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and wanted to be remembered for being the grandmother who always had cookies ready for the grandkids when they stopped by. She also enjoyed nature, including sitting outside on warm spring days to listen to the peepers, watching the birds, growing flowers, and was always sure to point out a beautiful sunrise, sunset, or rainbow. Cecelia cherished time spent with family, especially playing games and visiting with her grandkids. Cecelia enjoyed helping others and was a warm, kind, loving soul with the patience of a saint.
Cecelia is survived by her daughters Tasha Vanderpool and Shawnie Schenk; grandchildren: Siarah McKusick, Adalynn McKusick, Alyssa Rinebold, Draven May, Corbin Brown, Jensen Brown, Rhett Burlingame, and Griffen Schenk; brother Jarvis Burlingame, step-mother Blanche Burlingame, and special friend Robert Cotton, with whom she’s spent almost 20 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a little sister she never got to meet.
Cecelia will be buried in the Oak Grove Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
Memorial contributions, if desired, can be made to: Animal Care Sanctuary, East Smithfield, PA.
The Vanderpool family has entrusted Cecelia’s services to the Gerald W. Vickery, Jr. Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., Troy, PA
