Carolyn J Craig

December 22, 1945 — January 14, 2024

Carolyn J. Craig, beloved mother, sister, and grandmother, passed away on January 14, 2024, at the age of 78. Born on December 22, 1945, in Elmira NY. Carolyn left a lasting impact on the lives she touched during her time with us, passed away peacefully in Athens, Pennsylvania.

Carolyn spent some time working at Eureka before committing herself fully to her family. Her dedication to her loved ones was unwavering, and she found joy in nurturing and caring for them. Her work experience may have been diverse, but her true devotion was always to her family.

An artistic woman all around, Carolyn had a passion for painting, crafting, and DIY projects. She possessed a unique talent for reupholstering furniture and had an impeccable eye for interior design. Constantly renovating or updating something around the house, she effortlessly combined beauty and functionality in her surroundings. Carolyn also had a deep appreciation for nature and spent countless hours tending to her flower garden, of which she was immensely proud. Among her many favorite blooms, ferns held a special place in her heart.

Later in life, Carolyn furthered her knowledge and obtained an Associate’s degree. Her commitment to lifelong learning was a testament to her curiosity and thirst for knowledge.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Emily (Seymour) Craig, and her brother Ronald Craig. She leaves behind cherished memories in the hearts of her beloved Son, Darren, and his Wife, Pam Bentley, as well as her adored Grandson’s, Alex and Austin Bentley. She is also survived by her Brother Glenn (Gail) Craig, Sister Linda (Dale) McClelland, Sister Darla (Neil) Moore, Sister-In-Law Becky (Ronald) Craig, and 6 Nieces and 4 Nephews.

Services to honor Carolyn’s life will be held on Saturday, January 20th, 2024, at The Gerald W. Vickery Jr. Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. The viewing and calling hours will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Immediately following the conclusion of the services, a funeral procession will proceed to Gillett Cemetery.

Carolyn desired to learn The 23rd Psalm before departing this world, and she accomplished just that. Her determination and strength shone through even in her last moments.

Carolyn J. Craig will forever be remembered for her artistic talents, her love for her family, and her deep connection with nature. She will be greatly missed, but her legacy will continue to inspire all those who had the privilege of knowing her. May she find eternal peace as she transitions into the next chapter of her journey.
