Carol Vivian Rockwell, 90, of West Burlington, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2026, at Sayre Memory Care Center.
Born on August 15, 1936, in Big Flats, NY to Harold S. and Alta L. Congdon.
Carol lived a very full life defined by her deep, devoted love of family and affection and joys of her many friends around the United States as the wife of a military officer.
After graduating from Troy High School she married childhood friend and high school love, Richard Rockwell, on October 21, 1956. Together they built a home in several states at several military posts. She always enjoyed being involved with many military family activities.
After retirement in 1983, they settled in West Burlington and built a lovely house.
Carol was deeply involved with the West Burlington Methodist Church in the choir and as bookkeeper for the church. She always loved painting and drawing, and was a long time member of the Troy Fine Arts Council often displaying her artwork, and working at the Fine Arts booth at the Troy Fair every year.
Carol was preceded in death in 2016 by beloved husband Richard, and is survived by brother Howard Congdon (wife Bonnie) of Virginia, daughter Karen Rockwell of West Burlington, and sons John Rockwell (wife Tami Raub) of West Burlington and Michael Rockwell (wife Mindy) of West Virginia.
