Barbara (Smiley) Eiffert

Barbara (Smiley) Eiffert, 75 and long-time cancer survivor, of Columbia Cross Roads, PA, went to be with her Lord on Friday, April 17, 2015 from her home surrounded by her family.  She was the loving wife of Phillip F. Eiffert.  The couple married October 23, 1960 and had 54 happy years together.

Barb was born on May 1, 1939 in Granville, PA, daughter of the late Leon and Marjorie (Allen) Smiley.  She was a 1957 Troy High School graduate and later worked in the kitchen for Martha Lloyd, made pies for Troy Lunch, and worked for Little Learners.   She was a member of Big Pond United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, and the Ondawa Grange.  She was also a member of the Troy Heritage Garden Club, the quilting club in Big Pond, the Wednesday Afternoon Bowling League at Terrace Lanes, and was active in Relay For Life.

Barb is survived by her husband Phil, her children: Betsy (Chuck) O’Connor of Binghamton, NY, Perry Eiffert of Lock Haven, PA, and Matthew Eiffert of Cohocton, NY, her grandchildren: Chrissy, Joey, Stacie, Brynn, Blake, Keera, Sierra, and Conlan, her great grandchildren Haily and Derek, her sisters: Joyce Meeker of Canton, PA, and Sandy (Rich) Popolow of Troy, PA, along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brothers-in-law Ivan Meeker and Harold “Lefty” Garrison.

Family and friends are welcome to call from 10:00-11:00 AM on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at the Gerald W. Vickery, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc. 1093 West Main Street, Troy, PA.  The memorial service to honor Barb’s life will be held at the conclusion of the visitation at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 25th at the funeral with Barb’s pastor, Rev. Richard Noggle, officiating.
