It is with profound sadness yet deep admiration that we remember Augustus York Santiago, of Troy, PA, affectionately known as Auggie, who passed away at the age of 16 on Friday, October 16, 2026. Born in Hamilton Township, NJ, Auggie moved to Troy, PA when he was just three years old and became an inspiring presence in his community.
A Junior at Troy Area High School, Auggie's passion for learning extended far beyond the classroom. He was a devoted student of Civil Rights and history, and found great joy in debating, photography, gaming, and spending time in nature. His love for his pets, family, and friends was evident in everything he did. Auggie was not only a member of the National Speech & Debate Association but also a proud participant on the Troy Jr-Sr High School Speech & Debate team, where he was mentored by Zachary Gates, Esq. His talents and enthusiasm also shone through as a member of the Troy High School Drama Club and a past member of the Troy High School Marching Band.
Auggie was known for his compassionate spirit, always standing up for others and lending a helping hand wherever it was needed. His kindness and courage inspired those around him to be better and stand taller in their convictions.
He is lovingly remembered by his mother, Amy E. (Webster) Santiago of Troy, PA; his father, Julio C. Santiago, III with wife and Auggie’s stepmother Brandi, both of Williamsport, PA; his siblings Kaeleigh Santiago, Vincent Moore, and Vivian Mullen, all of Williamsport, PA; as well as many grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and beloved pets.
