Richard R. Sherman

Richard R. Sherman, 81, of East Troy, PA passed away on Wednesday, July 12th surrounded by his family.  He was the loving husband of Beverly E. (Dillon) Sherman, who predeceased him in 2012.  The couple married July 16, 1960 and had 52 happy years together.

The funeral service to honor Richard’s life will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, July 15 at the Austinville Union Church, in Austinville with the Reverend Ken Marple officiating.  Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Glenwood Cemetery.  The Gerald W. Vickery, Jr. Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc. 1093 West Main Street Troy, PA has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Richard was born on June 20, 1936, on Armenia Mountain, son of the late J. Ross Sherman and Viola (Morgan) Sherman.  He was a Troy High School graduate, Class of 1954.  He enjoyed spending time with his special friend Donna Good, attending his grandkids’ sporting events, watching football games on TV, playing cards, and hunting.

Richard is survived by his children: Terri (Jim) Saks of Dalton, PA, Sandra (Mark) Hannan of East Troy, PA, Karen Sherman and Rich McNeal of Towanda, PA, and Bob (Rachael) Sherman of East Troy, PA; his grandchildren: Ashlee, Amanda, Sydney, Ross, Ben, and Grace; his great grandchildren: Savannah, Logan, and Sophia, and his sister, Betty (Ken) Williams of Florida.

Memorial contributions may be made in Richard’s memory to the Covert Church, 8698 Old State Road, Troy, PA 16947.
