Mary Garrison Obituary

Mary Lou Garrison, 88, of Daggett, PA, passed away on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center in Elmira, NY with her family by her side. Mary Lou was born on November 16, 1930 in Elmira, daughter of the late Max LeGrand and Elsie M. (Sweely) Garrison.  She was a long time home health aide and sold Avon for over 50 years, and who she is still currently employed by. Mary Lou was a member of the Coryland Church, sang in it’s choir, enjoyed playing the piano, dancing, and roller skating. Mary Lou was always taking care of others, whether she was crocheting afghans for them, spending holidays with them, or just sitting and laughing with them. She loved people and loved to laugh.

 

Mary Lou is survived by her nieces and nephew Betty Fields and late husband John Fields of Lake Placid, FL, Robert Baker and late wife Barbara Baker of Coryland, John (Nora) Sands of Bergen, NY, and Janet (Dr. Edward) Neff of Coral Gables, FL, 8 great nieces and nephews, several great-great nieces and nephews, and her canine companion Lacey.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Nelle Sands and Norma Baker.

 

Mary Lou’s family has planned a memorial service for her at a later date. The Gerald W. Vickery, Jr. Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc., 1093 West Main Street, Troy, PA has been entrusted with the arrangements.
