Marion Luckey Obituary

Marion was born on October 24, 1925 in Athens, PA, daughter of the late James and May (Wandell) Mingos and grew up in Luther’s Mills, PA. She was a long time member of the East Troy Baptist Church where she served as a Deacon and Sunday School teacher.  Marion also belonged to the American Baptist Women of East Troy Baptist and held several positions including treasurer in that group. She was also a member of the East Troy Baptist Ladies Aid. One of Marion’s passions was genealogy.  She was a member of the Troy Genealogical Society and Elder Guild of Bradford County.  Marion was a member and volunteer of the Bradford County Heritage Association.  She enjoyed writing poems, crocheting, doing crossword puzzles, and putting together jigsaw puzzles.

 

Marion is survived by her children Louis (Drusilla) Luckey, Marianne (Randy) Everts, and Kathleen Turner, her grandchildren Michelle Luckey, Mark Luckey Gustina, Tod Everts, Toby Everts, Jason Luckey, Matthew Luckey, Michael Luckey, Rebecca Luckey, Darren Luckey, Heather Turner, Zachary Turner. Marion is also survived by her great grandchildren Adam Appleton, Alex Everts, Megan Everts, Elizabeth Luckey, Caylee Luckey, Ethan Luckey, Alan Luckey, Tucker Luckey, and Sawyer Luckey, her sisters Ellen Maryott, Esther Terwilleger, Betty (Gary) Ferguson, Julia Palmer, Hila Grinnell, Peggy Wheeler, Nancy (Arnold) King, her brothers Leslie (Ruth) Mingos and Frank Mingos, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.  Marion was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charles, her sons Charles “Pete” Luckey, Jr., and James Luckey, and her brothers Robert Mingos and George Mingos.

 

Family and friends are welcome to call from 9:30-11:00 AM on  Friday, November 30, 2018 at the East Troy Baptist Church, 9551 Route 6, Troy, PA.  The funeral service to honor Marion’s life will be held at the conclusion of the viewing at 11:00 am on Friday, November 30th at the church with Rev. Ozzie Osgood and Rev. Garry Zuber officiating.   Burial will follow in Bradford County Memorial Park. The Gerald W. Vickery, Jr. Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc., 1093 West Main Street, Troy, PA has been entrusted with the arrangements.
