M. Lawrence "Larry" Case

M. Lawrence “Larry” Case, 78, of Old State Road in Troy, PA, passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2019 at the Bradford County Manor. He was the loving husband of the late Virginia “Ginny” (Lyon) Case who passed away January 12, 2010.  The couple married May 6, 1962 and had 47 happy years together.

Larry was born on April 15, 1940 in Canton, PA son of the late Lawrence A. and Blanche (Swingle) Case.  His early life was spent on the farm in Beech Flats until moving to the farm in Troy at the age of 16. Larry was a graduate of Troy Senior High School, class of 1958.  Larry’s passion was farming and he ran the family dairy farm until his retirement in 2009. He was able to keep machinery on the farm working with his excellent mechanical abilities and expert welding.  His memberships includes being a lifelong member of the Pennsylvania Farmers Association (PFA) which is now the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau and a member of and past chairman of the Troy Agway committee. He was also a member and past president of the Troy School Board in the 1980’s.  Larry was a member of the Austinville Union Church, sang in the church choir, and was a member of the Bradford County Gideons. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed bowling in the 2 in 1 league at Terrace Lanes.

Larry is survived by his son Jeffrey A. Case of Sherburne, NY and girlfriend Lyn Champagne of Morrisville, NY, his brother James A. Case of Penn Yan, NY, his sister-in-law and brother-in-law Norma (Lyon) and Randy Spencer of Glenwood, MD, along with several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Ginny, his sister-in-law Winnie Case and nephews Scott Spencer and Jamie Case.

Family and friends are welcome to call from 6:00-8:00 pm on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at the Gerald W. Vickery, Jr. Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc. 1093 West Main Street Troy, PA and again from 10:00-11:00 am on Wednesday April 17, 2019 at the Austinville Union Church 2977 Austinville Road, Troy, PA. The memorial service to celebrate Larry’s life will be held at the conclusion of the visitation at 11:00 am on Wednesday, April 17th at the church with family member and friend Rev. Kenneth Marple officiating. Burial will be private at the convenience of Larry’s family in Bradford County Memorial Park.
