Gary L. Hulslander, 67, of Troy, PA passed away on Friday, March 29, 2019 at the Troy Community Hospital. He was the loving husband of Cheryl (VanEck) Hulslander. The couple married June December 28, 1974 and had 44 happy years together.
Gary was born on May 13, 1951 in Troy, son of the late Frank and Harriett (Bolt) Hulslander. He was a 1970 graduate of Troy High School and went on to earn an Associated Degree in welding from Williamsport Area Community College. Gary’s whole life was about cars. He could be found most of the time at his family’s business, Hulslander’s Garage on Exchange Street in Troy, working on the community’s vehicles. If Gary was home or at family gatherings he was watching racing on TV, and on Friday nights he and his friends would go to the dirt track races in New York State. After retiring Gary was a Car Chaser for Matthews Motors in Covington, PA, and did excavating for family and friends.
Gary is survived by his wife Cheryl, his daughters Jan M. Hulslander and Kim E. Hulslander, both of Troy, his brother Jack (Aurora) Hulslander of Troy, his sister Jean (Paul) Krupsaw of Escondido, CA five nieces and nephews and his aunts Marie Roth and Janice Bolt. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services for Gary L. Hulslander are private and at the convenience of his family. The Gerald W. Vickery, Jr. Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc., 1093 West Main Street, Troy, PA has been entrusted with the arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made in Gary's memory to the charity of one's own choosing.
