Don Victor Shepard

Don Victor Shepard, Age 85, of the Futures Group Home, Milan, PA, passed away Tuesday, October 31, 2017.  He was born July 14, 1932 at his grandparents Summers’ farm in Troy Township. His early years were spent at home until he was overcome with sickness and hospitalized. In his later years he has been cared for by Futures Community Services, Martha Lloyd Day Care and Group Homes. Don enjoyed being with those in his family home care. His family is grateful to the Futures and Guthrie Hospice Staffs who provided Don’s care as extended family.

Don is survived by a sister Virginia and husband Paul Shapiro of Wysox, and sister Rosemary in the Philippines. Surviving are nieces and nephews, David and Pamela, Roger and Lynda, William, Nathan and Jennifer, there are also numerous surviving grand and great nieces and nephews.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, Dean Chamberlain and Minnie (Summers) Shepard, a sister, Verna Ann and his brother David.

Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to the Gerald W. Vickery, Jr. Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc., 1093 West Main Street, Troy, PA 16947. Interment will be in Glenwood Cemetery with a memorial service to be held at the convenience of the family.
