On the evening of September 18, 2017, Beverly Jane (Mason) Knights, formally of Troy, PA, passed away at the Memorial Skilled Nursing Unit in Towanda, PA. She was 91 years of age.

 

Born on March 30, 1926, in Checkerville, she was the daughter of John and Emma (Dunbar) Mason. Beverly graduated from Troy High School. On September 14, 1946 she married Everett F. Knights and they had 48 happy years before his passing on September 24, 1994. Beverly worked at the East Troy Diner, the Sylvania Plant, McCabe's Drug Store, Cooke’s Pharmacy, and American Silk Label, all in Troy. She was a member of the Wheel Inn Club. Her interests were organizing family outings with her sisters and camping.

 

Beverly is survived by her sons, Mason Alan (Patricia) Knights of Troy and Timothy (Kelly) Knights of Corning, NY. Also surviving are grandchildren, Thomas (Kristie) Knights, Saxonburg, PA, Christy (Brian) Palmer, Manchester-By-The-Sea, MA, Brittany Knights, Buffalo, NY, and Jason (Amanda) Herrick, Canandaigua, NY. Great grandchildren are Katie Knights, Maddie Guthrie, Kam Guthrie, Damian Palmer, Theron Palmer, Taylor Palmer, and Ava Palmer. She is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews and very special friends, Amber Cook and family.

 

Pre-deceasing her in addition to her husband was her daughter, Lissa Jean Knights, brother and sister-in-law, Jack (Betty) Mason and sisters and brothers-in-law, Hilda and Walter Furman, Sr., Louise and Max VanVeghten, Mary and Clifford May, Margaret and Ronald Woodard, and Dorando and Max Hoose.

 

A Memorial Service to honor Beverly will be held at a later date with the Gerald Vickery Jr. Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc. handling the arrangements. Those wishing to honor Beverly's memory may do so by directing memorial donations to Towanda Memorial Personal Care Home, in care of Activities Dept., 603 William St., Towanda, PA 18848.

 

The family would like to thank the Memorial Personal Care Home and the Memorial Skilled Nursing Unit for the kindness and concern shown to them.
