Audrey I. (Raymond) Okula, 80, 0f Troy, PA, passed away Tuesday, January
30, 2018 at the Bradford County Manor. She was the loving wife of
Stephen C. Okula. The couple married May 17, 1958 and had 59 happy
years together.
Audrey was born on October 13, 1937 in East Moriches, NY, daughter of
the late Henry O. and Audrey I. (Jessup) Raymond. For many years she
was a Customer Service Representative for General Electric and was an
Avon sales Representive. She was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church
in Troy and taught Sunday School there. Audrey enjoyed talking about
politics including the Pro-Life movement and Racial Equality. She liked
watching both horse and auto racing, and was a big Dale Earnhardt fan.
She and Stephen raised and showed German Shepherds nationwide and was an
officer in many dog organizations. Audrey volunteered at Rainbow Riders
in Troy. After failing health took them to the Bradford County Manor,
Audrey and Stephen were seen daily holding hands and watching the
Catholic Channel on the television. As a supportive grandmother Audrey
could always be seen at her grandchildren’s events, activities, and
performances.
Audrey is survived by her husband Stephen, her children: Paul
(Norma-jeanne) Okula of Center Moriches, NY; Sheila (Richard) Wilson of
Troy, PA; and David (Shirley) Okula of Willard, MO. Her grandchildren:
John Okula; Allison (Gino) Martuscello; Michelle (Marcus) Redline; Brian Wilson; Brittany Wilson and fiancée Damien Romaine; Christopher Wilson
Jennifer (Steven) Wrightson; Jeffrey DeLeree; and Darlene (Allan) Chase;
Laura Okula; great grandchildren: Rachael Ann and Christopher
Okula; Luciana Rose and Joseph Paul Martuscello; Tyler and Brendan
Wrightson; Mara and Brook Deleree; Draven, Jocelyn, and Amelia Chase; Carter Richard Redline
her brother Robert Raymond of Grove City, OH; sister Katherine Raymond
of Athens, PA; sister-in-law Jeneniene Raymond; several nieces and
nephews including special niece Theresa Seitz and special nephew Kevin
Raymond. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Henry
Raymond and her sister Mary Raymond.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2018
11:30am at St. John’s Catholic Church, just off Exchange Street Troy, PA
with Rev. Fr. Ed Michelini officiating. Burial will follow in St.
John’s Cemetery. The Gerald W. Vickery, Jr. Funeral & Cremation
Services, Inc. 1093 West Main Street, Troy has been entrusted with the
arrangements.
