Alan Roy Cook, Sr.

Alan “Roy” Cook, Sr. Age 81, of Columbia Cross Roads, PA, passed away on Monday, January 22, 2018 at the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA. He was the beloved husband of the late Nancy A. Cook and was married 45 years.

Roy was born September 18, 1936 in Lansdale, PA son of the late Arthur and Sara (Cunningham) Cook. He was a graduate of Lansdale High School. Roy worked for T.D. Keyser, National Rolling Mills and Penn Troy Machine Company. Roy and Nancy were foster parents and enjoyed traveling. Roy was a beef farmer and enjoyed working on his farm he was also an avid bowler from his teens through to 2013. In his early adult years he was a stock dragster and street racer and loved socializing in the local community.

To Roy family was everything. His family includes his children, Kathleen Sullivan of Columbia Cross Roads, PA, Wendy (Neil) Maloney of Waaia, Australia, Alan Roy (Cynthia) Cook of Gillett, PA, Vicki (Shawn) Neitz of Livonia, NY and Kevin Cook of North Wildwood, NJ, 15 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and multiple nieces and nephews.

Roy was pre deceased by his parents, a brother, Robert Cook, his loving wife Nancy A. Cook and a special niece, Sharon Cook.

Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday, January 27, 2018 from 12 Noon to 1:30 PM at the Gerald W. Vickery, Jr. Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc. 1093 West Main Street, Troy, PA 16947. Roy’s funeral and committal service will follow at 1:30 PM with Pastor Patrick Kelly of the Berrytown Wesleyan Church officiating. Interment will be at the convenience of the family in Glenwood Cemetery, Troy, PA.
