Howard L. Knights

June 17, 1950 ~ April 8, 2017 (age 66) 66 Years Old

Howard L. Knights, age 66, of Troy PA passed away Saturday, April 8, 2017. Howard was born June 17, 1950 in Troy to Albert LaRue and Alma G. (Munsey) Knights. He graduated Troy High School in 1968. Following graduation he served his country in the US Army for 6yrs as a Heavy Equipment Operator with the Company B 464th Engineering Battalion. Howard loved the open road and was at peace traveling the country either through his work driving truck or in recreation on motorcycle. All roads brought his heart home to the family farm in Troy where he could relax & take in nature but his travels, both personal and professional, took him many places over the years and if you wanted to follow in his footsteps he would tell you ever mile marker to pass, good eats to take in and where the closest HoJo’s or Holiday Inn Express was. Sometimes his adventures where wilder than they should have been, but those stories made great memories and would make a fine comedy. Everywhere he went people were warmed by his smile & those big bear hugs. His interests evolved over the years from the violin & horseback riding to NASCAR, visiting casinos, & playing golf. Among other organizations he participated in over the years, Howard was a member of the Troy Masonic Lodge #306, Legion Riders Post 49, the American Legion Post 135, & Moose Lodge 2695.
Howard is survived by his only daughter and son-in-law Tammi and Lonnie Cersoli and their two children, Trenton and Kendyl of Millerton, his sister, Virginia (Robert) Jordan, nieces & nephews; Gary, Abigail, Ryan, Anthony, Angela (Glenn), Jonathan, Nicholas, Aley, Andrea (John), & Aliya, step children; Barb (Albert) Martin, Nan (Richard) Smith, and Brenda (William) Sullivan, step grandchildren; Sasha, Cody, Jonathan, Joseph, Kaitlyn, Gage, Jennifer, Brandy, Alexandria, Stacie, Sierra & Stefanie, step great-grandchildren; Jade, Ella, Bristol, Colter, Peyton, Brooklyn, Isaac, Ava & Preston, and beloved lifelong friends Rich & Joann Packard. He was predeceased by his parents, wife Cathleen Rockwell Knights, his brother and sister-in-law, Lynn E. & Debra Knights, and his step grandson, Zachary.
There is so much to be said about Howard, but for now, “…Roll on daddy till you get back home…” Funeral services will be held at a later date.
