Anna Mae (Johnson) Burnett

Anna Mae (Johnson) Burnett, 95, of Troy, PA, passed away on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at the Bradford County Manor.  She was the loving wife of the late Andrew Burnett who passed away in August of 1990.  The couple married in 1946 and had many happy years together.

Anna Mae was born April 15, 1922 in Granville Township, Bradford County, PA, daughter of the late Elmer H. and Lena (Smith) Johnson. She was a 1939 graduate of Troy High School. Over the years Anna Mae worked at Green Thumb, Inc. at the Bradford County Library, M. L. Kennedy Insurance, F. P. Case and Sons, Inc., the Troy Gazette Register, and Troy Engine and Machine Co., all of Troy, Pennsylvania. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Troy, United Methodist Women, Bradford County Library, Canton V. F. W. Auxiliary, and Troy American Legion Auxiliary.

Anna Mae is survived by children: Robert of Troy, PA, Carol Palermo of Wilmington, DE, Thomas (Marie) of Chattanooga, TN, and Dale of Towanda, PA; grandchildren Corey Chamberlain, Jennifer Burnett, Sarah Cassandra Estep (Jeremey), Jacquelyn Burnett, David Palermo (Michelle), Michael Palermo, Russell Burnett, Brooke Burnett, Shannon Burnett, Sarah Burnett, and Nicholas Nemier; and several great grandchildren. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, cousins: Patricia Ackerman, Mary Lou Horn, and James McNeil; step-brothers Richard Pratt and Gerald Pratt, and step-nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Andrew Burnett, her step-father Perlie Pratt, her brother Harry Fay Johnson, his wife Mary (Potter), her niece Julie Nace, her sister-in-law Catherine Burnett, and her step-brother Leland Pratt and his wife Anna.

Family and friends are welcome to gather from 11:00 am-12:00 noon on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at the Gerald W. Vickery, Jr. Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc. 1093 West Main Street, Troy, PA.  The graveside service to honor Anna Mae’s life will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, April 18th at Oak Hill Cemetery on Route 14 in Troy with Rev. Micky Cavanaugh of Gillett Baptist Church officiating.
